Description
Applications are invited for a permanent position of Clinical Nurse Manager 2 - Combined Role: ICU Audit Co-ordinator (INICUA) & Critical Care Clinical Information System Manager within St. Vincent's University Hospital.
Role Summary: ICU Audit Co-ordinator (INICUA) 0.5 WTE
In fulfilment of key objectives of the Critical Care Programme and the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine of Ireland, the National Office of Clinical Audit (NOCA) has established an Irish National Intensive Care Audit (INICUA). The INICUA is a quality and patient safety initiative that measures the quality of care in our ICU and many others across Ireland and the United Kingdom (UK). Quarterly and annual reports on activity and quality of care provided in the ICU are created. These reports benchmark Irish data against all comparable Units and international standards. The audit enables our Hospital to continually improve by making reliable data available to those who use, manage, refine and deliver healthcare so that patient outcomes improve, and change is achieved at local and national level.
Delivery of this national ICU audit requires a dedicated nursing resource to undertake the collection, input of clinical data and generate clinical activity reports for Critical Care. They are responsible for ensuring data quality and for monitoring and communicating the Audit output with the support of the local Audit Clinical Lead and NOCA. They have a key role in dissemination of information and being a catalyst for quality improvement initiatives. The work of the ICU Audit Co-Ordinator is central to the efficient and effective management of the service we provide and the patients we serve.
