Applications are invited for a one-year Anaesthesia Fellowship in Liver Transplantation at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin.
Commencing in July 2025.
About this Fellowship
This prestigious fellowship provides comprehensive, hands-on experience in the perioperative management of liver transplant patients at Ireland’s national liver transplant centre. There is also a high volume of elective major liver, IVC, pancreatic and bariatric surgery. The successful candidate will work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, gaining expertise in:
1. Advanced anaesthetic management for liver transplantation and complex hepatobiliary surgery;
2. Haemodynamic monitoring and coagulation management in high-risk patients;
3. Critical care of liver failure and transplant patients;
3. Cutting-edge regional anaesthesia and enhanced recovery protocols;
4. Participation in clinical research and education.
Who should apply?
We welcome applications from Anaesthetists who have completed (or are in the advanced stage of) their training in Anaesthesia.
Candidates should have;
1. Significant experience in Ireland or another equivalent training program country.
2. A strong interest in transplant, hepatobiliary, and major surgical anaesthesia;
3. Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Irish Medical Council.
