Description
Applications are invited for the position of Senior Dietitian – Diabetes (Specified Purpose Contract) in the Nutrition and Dietetics Department of St. Vincent’s University Hospital.
Overview: To function as an effective member of the dietetic team based at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, with the aim of ensuring optimum delivery of nutrition and dietetic care to clients at St. Vincent’s. Work as an integral member of the Diabetes MDT. All Dietitians participate in facilitating pre-registration practice placement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
•To provide a nutrition and dietetic service to patients and their families/carers specifically in the area of diabetes and endocrinology.
•To deliver care within the multidisciplinary team approach. This includes multidisciplinary education and monitoring of clients within our care. To facilitate this approach, attendance at ward rounds, team and clinical review meetings is essential.
•To provide a dietetic service to Diabetic outpatient clinics and Day Care service as required. This may be virtual or face-to-face with patients and family members.
•To provide a nutrition and dietetic service to patients and their families/carers specifically in the area of diabetes and endocrinology.
