Applications are invited for the permanent position of Senior Psychologist - Oncology in St. Vincent’s University Hospital.
Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for the Senior Psychologist to contribute to an established and dynamic Psycho-Oncology service in St Vincent’s University Hospital. Recommendations from the most recent National Cancer Strategy (2017-2026) and the 2021 Model for Psycho-Oncology Services highlight the essential role played by Psycho-Oncology MDTs in providing support across a spectrum of psychological distress and demonstrate the commitment of the National Cancer Control Programme to further the development of psycho-social care.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and development of a Psycho-Oncology service in line with service plans and objectives and within established professional standards, guidelines and policy as part of a hospital based MDT. The main focus is to enhance the cancer patient’s experience, and the quality of life and health outcomes of cancer patients and their caregivers, by addressing their emotional, psychological, cognitive and social needs.
