Description
Applications are invited for the position of Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Oncology Services.
To support the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 in the total management of the Haematology / Oncology day Ward and deputise in his / her absence. The day ward is a very busy Oncology/Haematology day unit where cancer treatments and supportive care are administered on an ambulatory base.
He/she will support the CNM2 With the following:
• Co-ordinate and manage nursing resources for this area and develop and maintain strong working relationships with Oncology and Haematology inpatient, outpatient, external and community services.
• Manage resources, lead the team and be accountable for nursing activity and outcomes of care.
• Function as a role model, promote best practice in the delivery of care, and provide clinical expertise and support within the Inter Disciplinary Team.
• Support, assist and facilitate colleagues in achieving positive outcomes as developed for the Ward/Unit/Department. Co-ordinate and manage nursing resources in the provision of services to patients attending the Oncology/Haematology Day Unit.
• Be flexible and cross cover the oral chemotherapy clinic where necessary and appropriate.
• In conjunction with the Director of nursing, Assistant Director of nursing, and CNM3 the CNM2 will be involved in the planning and provision of services to this unit.
• Encourage a culture of openness and participation through effective communication.
