Description
Applications are invited for the permanent position of Senior Physiotherapist in Medical Rehabilitation in St. Vincent’s University Hospital.
Role Summary:
The Physiotherapy Department’s Cardiorespiratory team is involved in the treatment and rehabilitation of medical patients. In addition, we are developing physiotherapy services within the Department of Infectious Diseases.
The current physiotherapy service is primarily an inpatient service, delivered by ward based physiotherapists working as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
This is a new post and St. Vincent’s University Hospital has been designated as one of six sites nationally to establish a Long COVID Service. The physiotherapist will work with the MDT to develop this long COVID service and to establish other physiotherapy services to meet the cardiorespiratory and rehabilitation needs of both medical inpatients and outpatients.
This will include the management and rehabilitation of patients with chronic infections including those recovering from acute infections. There will be an opportunity to develop physiotherapy services for people living with HIV with a focus on older adults in the HIV population.
