Description
Applications are invited for the permanent position of Staff Nurse - Intravenous Catheter Care Team in the Nursing Directorate of St. Vincent’s University Hospital.
Purpose of the Post: The IVC team will consist of a CNM3 and a team of nurses. The team will be will be responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of peripheral venous catheter/central venous catheter (PVC/CVC) best practice guidance, care bundle implementation, audit and monitoring process for CVC and PVC, education and training, incident review process, and monitoring insertion practices as appropriate. The staff nurse will be responsible for the insertion of PVC lines in patients throughout the hospital. The IVC nurse will be available as a resource to nurses and NCHDs to maintain and support their cannulation and IVC management skills, in addition to targeted education in relation to TPN and IVC use.
