Applications are invited for the permanent position of Surveillance Scientist – Microbiology in St. Vincent's University Hospital.
Purpose of the post: The post holder, in co-operation with the Consultant Laboratory Director, the infection control team and the Chief Medical Scientist will:
• Prepare, input and verify data relating to healthcare associated infections for analysis and reporting.
• Identify access and analyse data on antimicrobial resistance and indicator organisms on a regular and/or ad hoc basis and generate surveillance reports as required.
• Create, maintain and update the surveillance databases as well as facilitating integration of these surveillance database systems with available ICT systems.
