Description
Applications are invited for the permanent position of Senior Pharmacist - Antimicrobial in the Pharmacy Department of St. Vincent’s University Hospital.
Purpose of the post: Antimicrobial Stewardship in SVUH aims to optimise antimicrobial selection, dosing, route and duration of therapy to maximise clinical cure or prevention of infection while slowing down antibiotic resistance development. The Antimicrobial Pharmacist, as a member of the antimicrobial stewardship team, is responsible for the implementation of the antimicrobial stewardship programme in the hospital. The antimicrobial pharmacist works with the other members of the team to develop and implement guidelines and policies, monitors and audits antimicrobial usage in SVUH, and provides advice and education to other healthcare professionals in SVUH to ensure safe, effective and cost effective use of antimicrobials.
